Sawyer Roque is a freelance filmmaker and photographer based in Brooklyn, New York. Her background in journalism and visual art informs her work, which often focuses on women’s stories and social justice. She has conducted projects worldwide, from Lima, Peru to Chiang Mai, Thailand and across the United States.
Sawyer graduated from Western Kentucky University, where she studied photojournalism. She is a member of the Video Consortium and an affiliate member of the Documentary Cinematographers Alliance.
Sawyer’s services include video directing and producing; editorial, lifestyle, news, and portrait photography; and cinematography. She works as a local in New York City and Louisville, Kentucky and is currently a contract video producer at The New York Times.
